We will be selling Numano Hideaki's "Black and White" POT from 8/27 (Tue) at 8pm.
Hideaki Numano has a pottery studio in the mountains of Kasama City, Ibaraki Prefecture, where he grows his own agaves, cacti, and tuberous plants, and from that experience he makes slit pots that are designed to prevent circling. He makes pottery with the intention of creating flower pots that are considerate of plants.
This piece is a carbonized fired piece.
Being conscious of preventing root rot of tuberous root plants,
It is characterized by a large slit.

Each pot is different in shape and glaze finish, allowing you to enjoy a different look for each one.
On Numano's Instagram, he also posts photos of the plants he has planted in pots and growing them.
He showed us the condition of the roots of plants he grew in pots, and how he baked the Akadama soil he uses in a kiln.
It's so much fun to see how much you enjoy living with plants.
